they just keep growing

A few weeks ago the littles called me into the living room, and I about busted a gut when I walked in.  Let’s just say, they keep things interesting, and are not short on imagination. Love those two little people.

living the dream

This happens most nights.  Not joking. They have learned how to do everything themselves, including take the fish off the hook and throw it back in the lake. Pretty impressive really.

Baby. Baptized.

It may be because she is my youngest that I had such a hard time posting these baptism photos of my little Jace Face.  That may be the reason I waited an entire year after her baptism to get them on the blog. I mean, it’s emotional, your littlest become not so little anymore.  So that is probably why it took so long to post these.  It probably had nothing to do with the fact that we moved two days post baptism and life has been insane and her mom is sometimes overwhelmed and equal parts forgetful and lazy, leading to a little girl saying “hey we still need to take my baptism photos” every few weeks for a year until you finally grab her baptism dress on the way to take some other pictures, make her change in the car, and then pretend you are not a year behind.  I’m sure it’s about the pain of seeing her grow, and nothing else.

Fall 2017

It is that time of year again.  My facebook and instagram feeds are just pages and pages and pages of back-to-school photos of grinning kids with too-big backpacks and crisp new jeans.  I always like the reminder that it is time for me to take some photos of my kids and document that they are getting older, even if they don’t get new clothes.  This year we decided to run over to the beach on Lake Michigan, because, well, we’ve never lived near a beach before and who knows if we ever will again. Teegan drove us out there and back, bringing him 3 hours closer to completing his required driving hours before he can get his license.  He is getting so close.  Even though it was semi overcast, and they weren’t facing the sun, there were definitely some squinty eyes going on.  But, here they are anyway.  Love these yahoos, and oh how I miss their big sister, big brother, and little sister.  If we were “normal”  this year Teegan would be a senior, Katauna a Junior, Sienna in 4th grade and Jace in 3rd.  But if you ask them what grade they are in, you might just get a blank stare.  We love the homeschooling life.

Studebaker

Today we instituted a new event.  Field Trip Thursdays.  We were planning a trip to the beach, but woke up with thunderstorms likely and high risk for swimming.  I would have totally braved it, but I didn’t think it would be responsible parenting.  So we decided to find a new activity for our field trip and we ended up at the Studebaker museum.  I’m not much of a car fanatic, but this place was pretty dang cool.  So much history.  We had a great time,  Steve and Tauna especially enjoyed working in the jr. garage 😉  We  just wish dad could have been with us.
